Thank you to everyone who has entered our Mini Burn Family Adventure Race on June 8 at Penllyn Estate. It's a sell out!
We are now in the final week of preparations, so maps are being printed, medals delivered, and final route amendments made.
On Thursday and Friday, my team and I will work tirelessly for 12 hours a day to get the whole event set up. When you arrive, you will be greeted at a buzzing event center with banners, flags, marquees, music, and plenty of smiling faces. All of this is the result of many hours of physical labor. Moving 20 double kayaks and 6 single kayaks into place takes time and a lot of effort (each double weighs 32kg!).
Thank you to the owners of Penllyn Estate, who have had their team out this week, preparing the areas that you will cross. I even roped in my very own sister for a few hours of path clearance on Wednesday to ensure you get a smooth ride as you descend back into the event center at the end of the second bike ride.
We are a small team with a huge passion to put on a spectacular family adventure race for you in the UK. The Mini Burn is the longest-standing and still the only Run, Bike, Kayak Family Adventure Race in the UK.
We can't wait to welcome you to our event. In the meantime, please read the competitor information very carefully. I will personally give everyone a briefing on race morning so you can ask any questions you may have.
Between now and then, make sure you eat well and rest well. Bring a well-serviced mountain bike and be ready for a day filled with adventure. We've got some surprises up our sleeves for you as well!
If you didn't manage to get an entry this year, then keep an eye out for our future events. We occasionally get some last-minute cancellations, so if you are eager to grab a place, please email me and I will see what I can do.
